🏠 Home Visits & Telephone Appointments

Home Visits: Available in certain circumstances—please call early.
Telephone Appointments: Same fees/rebates as in-person if seen in the past 12 months.

 

🏥 Specialist Referrals

Referrals are valid for 12 months.
Please ensure referrals are current—backdating is not allowed.

 

💊 Repeat Prescriptions

For regular medications only.
Must be seen in the past 3 months.
Scripts without consultation incur a private fee and take 2–3 days.

 

🌍 Interpreter Services

Available upon request—please ask our reception team.

 

🧪 Pathology & Results

Our team provides pathology collection services onsite, available Monday to Friday mornings. All specimens are sent to Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology for processing.

If your doctor refers you to another health provider, please remember to ask about any potential out-of-pocket costs when booking your appointment.

We recommend that all patients book a follow-up appointment with their doctor to discuss the results of tests or investigations, including pathology, X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, and specialist correspondence. Please schedule this appointment at the time your results are expected to be available.

Health Reminders and SMS Notifications

Our practice uses SMS to send health messages, reminders, and non-urgent recall notifications. If you would prefer not to receive SMS messages, please inform our reception team and we will update your preferences.

If you are expecting a message and haven’t received one, we encourage you to contact the practice directly.

  • Morning pathology collection (Mon–Fri) via SNP

  • Follow-up appointments required to discuss results

  • SMS reminders available (opt-out at reception)

 

💡 Preventive Care

Our practice is dedicated to supporting your health through preventive care and health promotion. We may send you SMS reminders about relevant services such as health checks, immunisations, and screenings tailored to your care.

If you would prefer not to receive these SMS notifications, simply let our reception team know and they will update your preferences.

 

🎓 Medical Students

We are proud to support the training of medical students from James Cook University. From time to time, a student may be present during your consultation as part of their learning experience.

You will always be informed in advance if a student is to be present. If you would prefer not to have a student sit in, simply let your doctor or our reception team know. Your comfort and privacy are our priority — the choice is entirely yours.

 

🚗 Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS)

Ask your doctor for Form B at time of referral.
Only your referring doctor can sign it.

Your medical records are confidential and only accessed by authorised personnel.
